TLMI proudly announced the recipients of the 2025 Eugene Singer Excellence in Business Management Awards during this year’s TLMI Converter Leadership Meeting, held in Clearwater Beach, FL, USA. Among the most prestigious honors in the tag, label, and package printing industry, the Eugene Singer Award recognizes outstanding operational and financial excellence as measured through the TLMI Management Ratio Study.

Presented annually, the Eugene Singer Awards recognize converter member companies demonstrating superior performance across a comprehensive set of growth and profitability metrics. Winners are selected by company size category, based on confidential benchmarking data managed independently by Industry Insights. This allows participants to compare their performance against peer organizations across the industry.

“As I shared at the opening, these awards recognize excellence in business management measured and defined by an established set of benchmarks,” states TLMI chairman Mark Glendenning. “The Eugene Singer Awards honor companies that demonstrate strong discipline, strategic leadership, and above‑average performance across a broad range of financial metrics.”

The Management Ratio Study evaluates 11 key performance factors, offering a well‑rounded assessment of a company’s overall financial health.

Achieving a Eugene Singer Award requires consistent, above‑average results across the majority of these metrics. The award reflects operational excellence, long‑term sustainability, and effective leadership.

The awards are named in honor of Eugene Singer, who pioneered the benchmarking management ratios that continue to serve as a foundational tool for performance evaluation within the converter industry.

TLMI reaction

“These awards carry deep meaning for the companies that earn them,” said Dale Coates, TLMI CEO and president. “One of my favorite parts of this role is calling the winners ahead of the meeting. Hearing the pride, gratitude, and emotion in those conversations is incredibly powerful. It’s a reminder that this recognition represents years of discipline, leadership, and commitment to excellence.”

The Eugene Singer Awards were announced as the final honors of the evening, bringing the TLMI Converter Leadership Meeting to a close by celebrating not only outstanding operational performance, but the people and teams behind it. These leaders exemplify dedication that continues to strengthen the converter community and the industry as a whole.
